What is your main focus on the CMS experiment?
For the hardware project, I am currently working on the pixel detector, especially focusing on the pixel upgrade. I am trying to investigate whether we could use the pixel detector to improve the low level trigger. For analysis, I am working on muon-related physics.
What inspired you to study particle physics?
Understanding the fundamental components of our universe is very exciting to me. Particle physics provides us with a key to open the black box of our whole universe.
What is your favorite thing about being a scientist?
Finding new problems, understanding, solving them and discovering something new.
What is it about Fermilab and the research you do that you think would surprise people the most?
We use such big machines—accelerators and detectors—to study such tiny particles!
If you could only rescue one thing from your office or lab, and you already have your laptop, what would it be?
My particle physics lecture notes.
What music do you listen to the most?
