Di-lepton signatures for Standard Model and Beyond the Standard Model Physics

What inspired you to study particle physics?

I was going to be a musician when I discovered that I probably do not have enough talent to be successful. So physics was really only a second choice!

What is your favorite thing about being a scientist?

Besides the excitement of discovering the secrets and solving the puzzles of nature, I like working with very many people that have a common goal and make things happen by working together.

What is it about Fermilab and the research you do that you think would surprise people the most?

Maybe people would be surprised by how much of what we are doing is driven by inter -personal interactions and how international and open our research is.

If you could only rescue one thing from your burning office or lab, and it can’t be your laptop, what would it be?

If I can’t rescue my laptop, I would rescue the Micro-Vertex Silicon Strip Detector Module that I got as a present when I left DESY.

What music do you listen to the most?

I’m listening to all kinds of music, including the music I am playing myself – being basically a failed musician does not stop me spending a lot of time playing music!
